Allied Glazing Systems project spotlight: Office block to high-spec student accommodation in Salford
Allied Glazing Systems has commenced work on site at Brookland House in Salford, Manchester, replacing windows, doors and curtain walling in the former office block as it’s converted into student apartments. This latest project adds to Allied’s extensive experience in enhancing education buildings, across the UK, which includes working with schools, colleges and universities as well as student accommodation.
Brookland House is just a 25-minute walk to the University of Salford and a short ride to University of Manchester making it an ideal location for students who want high-spec accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
Working with energy efficient residential refurbishments specialists Beech Design and Build, the team has specified fenestration systems from one of Allied’s trusted partners, Senior Architectural Systems. SF52 curtain walling is a reliable system and one which we’ve installed on a number of projects (as outlined in this product spotlight), and has been chosen for this project too with arched frames at their heads.
SPW501 doors will be installed as the building will have high pedestrian footfall and can be fitted in a variety of configurations. The windows will be SPW600e which are weather rating tested for air permeability, water tightness and wind resistance.
The Allied Glazing Systems team is expected to be on site for four weeks, see progress in the gallery below:
