Yorkshire based Allied Glazing Systems manufactured and installed highly efficient glazing at a multi-use leisure facility in North Lincolnshire, working collaboratively with main contractor Harry Fairclough Construction.

The brief for the project was to provide a two-story community sports centre. Features and facilities of the steel-frame new build include:

  • A four-lane 25m swimming pool
  • Fitness studio
  • Dance studio with sprung floor
  • Registered Changing Places Room
  • A MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) for football, hockey and other sports
  • Tennis and netball courts

Allied Glazing Systems specified and supplied specialist windows and door systems from Comar. Recognising the very high expected throughput of people for the centre, the solution included anti-finger trap technology and automated doors activated by system sensors.

Councillor John Briggs, Cabinet Member for Commercial Enterprise of North Lincolnshire commented: “This is a major investment for residents of all ages and is for everyone in all the villages across Axholme North. Exercise provides many benefits it helps improve concentration, stimulates the mind and strengthens/tones the body.”
