We are delighted to announce a new contract win with GMI Construction Group for Aflex Hose in Huddersfield. The Allied team will design, fabricate and install windows, doors and curtain walling to the new factory, Head Office building and Technical Centre which are currently under construction with Allied Glazing Systems Installation teams on site between mid-June and mid-July 2019.

Aflex Hose has been inventing, developing and manufacturing a range of PTFE lined flexible hose products for more than 40 years, and its ambitious plans for a new factory were designed specifically to accommodate the bespoke processes.  By developing land near to the existing location, Aflex is uniting the five manufacturing, office and product development facilities on one site which will help to maintain the highly skilled workforce and boost production capacity by 70%.

The new three storey head office building will be client facing so it was important for the design to be attractive externally whilst also allowing the maximum amount of light inside. Senior Architectural Systems’ products have been chosen for the project including entrance doors SPW501 and Curtain Walling/Windows SF52 which have an enhanced thermal performance to exceed current building regulations and are 100% recyclable.

The plans and CGI illustrations available from Kirklees Council provide an insight into what the finished site will look like, which is predicted to be in fully operational at the end of 2020, without disruption to Aflex’s manufacturing and supply over the build and move-in period.
