Introducing Allied Glazing Systems’ latest Graduate Design Engineer: Meet Jake!

26th Jan 2019 | Posted In Company

As part of Allied Glazing Systems’ commitment to growing and developing its team, the Sheffield based manufacturer recently hired Jake Stanley, after he graduated with an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Engineering and Management.

Jake always wanted to pursue a career in manufacturing and during his studies undertook a vocational placement within a large furniture factory. This confirmed his ambitions and the placement provided him with a level of insight into what it was like to work within a busy manufacturing environment. This encouraged him to continue his studies and complete a Masters degree focussing more on the management aspects of the business.

Allied Glazing Systems was introduced to Jake via a Sheffield based scheme called Rise, that supports graduates from Sheffield Universities to gain roles within local SME businesses. At the time Allied was advertising for a design / project engineering role which appealed to Jake and suited what he was looking for and the location in which he wanted to work. He was specifically attracted to the fact that the company invests in the training and development of its team and makes it a priority.

Jake comments: “From my first day at Allied I have felt very welcomed by the rest of the team who are friendly and genuinely interested in the experiences that I’ve had to date and how I can apply that to my role. I’m encouraged and inspired by the fact that the company prioritises and invests in learning and I look forward to continuing my development and benefiting from the experienced individuals within such a well-established and reputable team. In terms of what I’ve learnt so far I’m focussed on getting to grips with our product range and how we fit the right product to the design to understand the process of always coming up with the best solution for every project”.
