Engineering Technology Centre at North Lindsey College, Lincolnshire

SECTORS: Education

BUDGET : £13m

The Engineering Technology Centre at North Lindsey College was developed to spotlight careers in Engineering and Manufacturing with the aim of addressing the skills gap within the industry and ‘to raise ambition and aspiration through learning’. Providing a hub for local people to progress and develop their Engineering skills, the centre needed to modernise to inspire the region’s next generation of engineers.

With the aim of delivering a modern, clean and fresh looking building to support the college’s aspirations, Allied Glazing Systems recommended an appropriate architectural aluminium glazing solution.

Working with leading, nationally recognised manufacturer Senior Architectural Systems, we installed a range of aluminium fenestration products including the SCW+ curtain walling system and SPW600e aluminium windows, creating a sleek façade and allowing maximum light to enter the building. We paired the exterior with Senior’s SPW500 aluminium doors so the glazing remained uninterrupted, created a seamless finish and no part of the building seemed out of place.

The College’s commitment to upskilling the workforce of the future goes beyond the £12.2 million-pound investment in the centre and as part of this, two students were given the unique opportunity to work alongside the experienced and highly qualified engineers and technicians onsite. We worked hard to ensure that the glazing aspect of the project reflected the college’s dedication to inspiring the next generation of the manufacturing workforce throughout all aspects of our involvement.

Recognising the college’s aspiration to create a modern learning environment, we were delighted to work with Interserve and Senior Architectural Systems to turn their vision into reality.
